This morning on talk radio, Knox County School Board Member Robert Bratton and Southwest Knox County resident and journalist Leslie Snow had a conversation. Member Bratton indicated that in his opinion, he could take anyone along Northshore Drive to Hardin Valley quicker than to Farragut High School.

In response to Mr. Bratton’s statement I would like to ask if he is willing to take responsibility when a bus or a student driver is involved in a car accident on the Pellissippi Parkway. Will he be willing to take responsibility for all the tardies students from the Northshore area will get because they can’t get to school on time because of the traffic on Pellissippi and the Hardin Valley exit? It takes me 5 minutes to get my high school student to Farragut High school from the Northshore area. I guarantee it will take much, much longer to get to HVHS from the Northshore area. And I’d also like to add that when a school bus or student driver is involved in a car accident as a result of traveling on Pellissippi Parkway and the Hardin Valley exit to get to school, the very first finger to be pointed in blame will be to the Knox County School System and to the School Board for putting our children in harm’s way!
